Lord Callanan was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Energy Efficiency and Green Finance) at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on 7 February 2023.

He was previously Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy from 14 February 2020 to 7 February 2023, and Minister of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union from 27 October 2017 to 31 January 2020.
