Andy Prendergast is the GMB National Secretary for the Private Sector. After becoming a union steward, he has worked for GMB for over 20 years and represents over a quarter of a million members working in areas as diverse as retail, distribution, energy, security, transport, manufacturing and legal services. He advocates on behalf of GMB in numerous meetings with Ministers and Government agencies, as well as representing the TUC on matters such as hydrogen development and carbon capture and storage. He is an experienced political and media operator and is a passionate advocate for improved conditions and better rights for working people.
