Alex Sobel MP is Chair of the Net Zero All-Party Parliamentary Group. He has been a leading voice in the UK's efforts to tackle climate change. Elected in 2017 to represent Central and Headingley (previously Leeds North West), he has a strong background in environmental advocacy, having led on climate for Leeds City Council and played a key role in the 2015 European Green Capital Summit. As founder of the Net Zero APPG, Alex works to accelerate the UK's transition to a low-carbon economy through parliament. He has also served as the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s COP Rapporteur.
