Dr Markus Rondé has been the entrepreneur behind Exergy3 since 2021, guiding it to spinout from the University of Edinburgh in 2023, and serving as CEO ever since.  He started his educational journey studying Business Administration and Engineering in Germany, followed by a Master's in Sustainable Energy at the University of Glasgow, and a Ph.D. in Nanotechnology from the University of Edinburgh.  Dr Rondé's diverse experience spans multiple countries and sectors. Before venturing into academia (and spinning out of it again), he worked across Austria, Germany, France, and China for the Liebherr Group, at the intersection of commerce and technology. This role honed his skills in navigating the complex relationship between technological advancement, business strategy and intercultural communication. Markus speaks German, English and Chinese, and in his spare time he enjoys dinghy sailing of the Scottish coast and the company of his two cats.
