Ian Meyer is serving as the (interim) Regional Director of Scotland for Vattenfall Heat UK, spearheading the company's efforts to bring heat networks to Scotland.

With a wealth of experience in low carbon energy and infrastructure planning in both an engineering and a legal context, Ian is also Company Secretary of the board for Midlothian Energy, a joint venture between Vattenfall and Midlothian Council, where he works to deliver low carbon infrastructure across Midlothian and explore new opportunities for Vattenfall to decarbonise heat throughout Scotland.

Driven by a desire to decarbonise city heating and cooling solutions at scale as part of achieving Net Zero, Ian has worked at Vattenfall for over four years and believes passionately that large scale heat networks are a key part of the solution. 

Ian is a strong advocate for the adoption of the Midlothian Energy delivery model for sustainable urban development across Scotland. He is committed to decarbonising Scottish heat demand and providing meaningful, future-proofed infrastructure.
